DigiTXT: eBooks, iPods and Early Elementary
The electronic book is a rapidly growing alternative to the conventional book—even for very young children. What does the shift from page to screen mean for early elementary literacy learners and how does the eBook ‘fit’ in the elementary classroom as a curricular tool and instructional resource? Come learn how K-2 teachers in Coventry, Green and Tallmadge are using eBooks in their reading instruction. Find out how students are using eBook apps on touch screen computers and iPod Touch. You’ll leave with an understanding of the pedagogical shifts needed to effectively implement a variety of digital literacy experiences in the early elementary classroom.
